Horizon Day 4: We Have 'H' & 'O'




After a long day of moving rock and sand, and finally pouring letters we have our first two letters complete!

Horizon Day 3: And now a lot of sifting...


The next step for Horizon is producing sifted sand and rocks for poiring the letters.  Many thanks to Ven for all his help today!

Day 2: Forms Complete and Help Arrives

All of the forms are now in place, ready for the start of concrete pouring tomorrow.  More help arrived today from Ven who drove up from his residency in Roswell.  He's graciously offered up his time for a couple a days to push us closer to completion.  Thank you Ven!!!

Lights camera action! We're on our way. The piece is almost finished being built. We leave this Sunday and arrive in Moriarty to start install on 10/16.

It is all coming together!
We are on our way! Most of the supplies have arrived and we are starting to assemble the piece. Pictured here are the solar panels, the metal vault and the 175 lbs. batteries as well as a drawing of the plans. We leave for NM in two weeks.

Day 1 Complete

We finished Day 1 with a completed trench, frame and placed H form.  Six more letters and rebar to place and we'll be ready to pour.
A perfect day in the desert to start a project.
